far, far from home
surrounded by ocean
there is land of fire and ice
where people believe in elves…
Island of 300 thousand people
the most peaceful place I’ve ever been to.
Special , really bright during summer time
and completly dark during winter.
But the sad darkness are often brightened by green stripes on the sky
THE NORTHERN LIGHTS
amazing waterfalls, fields full of grass and wild horses
it all sounds like Iceland, right? 🙂

These are the northern lights. Yes ,yes do not expect these extremely intense colours from instagram. (I ‘ve already edit this pic)
To see them well you have to be outside in the coldest day, out of the city, far away from all the street lights. Or just come back fucked from party, accidently give a look at the sky
at 2 a.m and god damn- see them colorful like never before 🙂

… the weather, yeeah
This is totally normal if during the day was storm, sun, snow, wind, hail, clear sky and fucking rainbow #ICELAND
I am staying here over the winter months which is pretty depressive,
now I understand why Iceland is full of drugs, alkohol, parties and highest rate of suicides
There are the days that sun comes up around 11
SUN sorry, I wanted to say that SKY is visable from 10-11 in the morning,
which in longer term makes you really sleepy and tired 😦
but if youre party animal its a place for you,
icelandics can go for house party and not leave it for few days
who would notice that
it was already daytime somewhere ???

But hey hey if you want to have best december
Iceland is the place.
I came here for winter, because my friend told me that they do
THE BEST CHRISTMAS ATMOSPHERE
thats right, they are in love with all “jola” stuff.
jola yougurt, jola bread, jola beer, jola clothes
And as you see in the picture they do some kind of competition who will have more christmas lightening around a house.
cool

they love christmas soo much
Its sure that they not gonna have one santa claus.
They have 13 of them
and NO JOKE
Everyday comes a different guy.
They tease a lot, steal stuff like skyr (kind of yougurt); sausages; milk; pans and pots (to eat leftovers from); steals meat; candles; harasses sheep; slam doors; lick spoon etc
Depending on childs behaviour throughout the year every night they leave small gifts or rotten potatoes.

But parents, please “Dont buy them iPhones” Santa should be fair.

Another thing that I just love about Iceland.
OUTDOOR swimming all year round! no matter the weather.
Vikings are tough.
Rain, wind, snow … and this winter I’ve already been more times in bikini
than during summer

Looking at this picture I am already feeling smell of sheep.
That was EXPERIENCE
I caught many of them, kept on my tights while farmers were changing the earings.
This act manifested itself with many bruises noticed lately evening this day.
That was the same day when my amazing “family” prepared tasty lamb for dinner.
I love you guys, but I had big issues eating lamb still feeling smell of them on my clothes..

GOD, BLESS ME

another exciting thing
Magical creatures- ELVES
they live in amazingly beautiful lava formations.
You can sense their energy horseback riding thru the lava fields in Hafnarfjörður.
Icelanders are familiar with this sensation.
I got as a gift small lava stone from a kid, sure she asked elves for a permission to take it.
Its gonna bring me luck to the rest of my days, thanks to elves 🙂
Elves interfere with construction projects; there are stories about diseapearing machines and breaking tools while building the roads.
Apparently elves didnt want people to build anythig in these areas.
Icelanders had to respect it and lead the road around those places in order to leave elves in peace 🙂
I think its fucking cool.

hey,hey Icelandic nature
as a tourist ; there are many rules to follow.
Because of the fact that icelanders really take care of the nature,
it would be nice to respect it.
It would be also nice to behave like normal person and not a fucking idiot like many of us does.
It happens regularly that people from other countries dare to go for the craziest sightseeing to the places any icelanders would go.
They try to visit fiords in winter time or places where you cant reach 112.
They steal parts of elves houses or stop on the side of narrow rode just to take picture of a horse.
Really, guys lets behave.

tourists all year long

on the picture- my icelandic family
lets say the second one, because my first family turned out to not be a family at all
but hangovered, divorcing guy who takes kids on weekends
haha I actually had to escape his place, leaving him a message that I took my stuff away and I cant work as much as he think I can
Basically icelandic girls are soo INDEPENDENT that they dont need any help from any guy.
Thats why in most of the cases they are getting what they want.
EQUAL RIGHTS
Equal treatment, equal pensions but also equal work and responsibilities.
I was expected to open doors by myself and carry everything heavier than me.
Really not polish thinking
(in this moment I have to say MUCH LOVE TO ALL POLISH GENTELMENS)
back to my “new” family
Home was full of good energy, much love and DOGS.
3 amazing dogs that stole my heart from the very beggining, two cute girls that stole my heart a little bit later than the dogs; and of course Austa and Hannas my new parents who I loved from first sight.
It was really nice experience to be adopted.
When they got to know about girl who train horses for weird guy, they decided to save my life and take me to their home and their horses.
yes,yes I am the luckiest person ever 🙂

and as I was the HORSE AU PAIR in their home
after some time I actually promote for the real au pair position
and as I said to my new parents before
“I always thought that I want to have kids when I will be 30. Now I actually think I never want to have them”
Noooo, kidding. But anyway really thanks for this experience.
I learnt how to change a diaper.

And last thing, one of the most important.
The reason I live.
HORSES
Icelandic horses. Dont dare to call them ponies…
They are soo special that I dont even know where to start…
I am still big horse rider. My heart belongs to big horses, but there is something sweet about these tiny creatures.
Starting from the fact that they dont kick nor bite, because everything that its rude or nasty will be converted for sausages in Iceland.
No joke, if horse has some narrows it will become your meal one day.
Simple like that.
Thanks to this habbit, icelandic horses are known to be really smart, polite and well behaved horses. They are good for children and beginners.
They have 5 gates (not 3 like big horses) which is really comfortable and easy to ride.
Easy for rider maybe not soo much for the horse. Sometimes when horse was going with some weird gate I used to make a pep talk to myself- Kasia, this horse have 5 gates its not hard to he fuck sth up.
And the WILD thing, yeah Icelanders want to keep them WILD
soo long main and long fur totally in fashion.
(in Sweden we would clipp them to zero, haha)

horse would laught about it
watch the short video from Iceland
hope that you enjoyed, cheers!
